"Mythos"a traditional but unfounded story that gives the reason for a current custom, belief, or fact of nature.
This idea about what we understand to be our history or our ethos seems very pertinent at this time. We look at vague and curated evidence and contrive an Idea of what "was". We look to broad brush strokes of events, we often edit crucial details and we as individuals, as a community, or as a nation create this legend, this "Mythos". The Mythos over time, replaces facts or even our understanding of ourselves. The mythos often becomes this cultural monolith that is subscribed to and also false.
